Many many months back I was emailed about reviewing a product popular with military children. I was hesitant to do it right away, almost as if I embracing having a little one would some how bring bad luck. So, I procrastinated. A lot. But here I am, 31 weeks along and I think it's time! God doesn't work on luck, right?
Daddy Dolls! Have you heard of them? They are dolls that feature the photo of a parent or loved one on one or two sides. They come in several sizes from huggable to child-sized! The 2nd side can be used for a photo or for a fabric, such as a military uniform pattern, the latter being what I chose for my doll. You can include a small amount of text on the doll and can even add a voice recorder for a special message.
Not a military family? No problem! Police, firefighters, grandparents...anyone can become a Daddy Doll! It's super easy to make them too. Take a photo, pick your doll type and size, upload your photo, and a few weeks later a doll is on the way to your house! What a great thing for little ones to have to cuddle with while a loved one is away.
Want your own? Of course you could order one here OR you could win won for FREE (including shipping!)! Want to win? Just leave a comment on this post telling me who you would put on your Daddy Doll. A winner will be chosen April 23rd.
(The winner will receive a gift certificate for one large 17 inch one-sided Daddy Doll, shipping included. The doll must be shipped to a CONUS or APO address. Daddy Dolls has provided me with one Daddy Doll in exchange for my honest feedback and post.)

I would love to win one. I've been meaning to get one soon. My husband deploys soon and I don't want our seven month old to forget who daddy is since she won't see him til after she's one! Pick me please!
We are currently pregnant with our first little one, so I would put my husband on the daddy doll, so our little one will always have him with him even when he gets deployed! My husband is Air Force =)
Well, I would put my husband on the doll! He leaves in May through the end of September for BCT and AIT (for the Army). Around the time he is done with AIT we are planning on trying to start our family, so it would be GREAT to have a daddy doll for our future child when they come in to this world :)
I'd put my husband's picture on a doll for our daughter. She's old enough now (2) to know he deploys a lot. I really should just bite the bullet and buy one.
I have been checking these out since Hubby is deploying in a couple months and I'm looking for ways to help our 2 year old remember him!
Never heard of these. What a cool idea! My husband is a K9 officer who works nights, so 4 days out of the week we only see him when we wake him up in the morning to kiss him goodbye. Our 2 girls would think these are so neat!
We have one of these that we ordered when our oldest was 2 and we realized AIT was a year away from us and we weren't allowed to go! :(
I'd love to be able to have one for our youngest before Daddy goes from Reserve to AD status!
I'd put my hubby -- hopefully not for deployments but for TDY's.
I would put my husband on a Daddy Doll. He's deploying very soon and this will be the first one for our kids.
Both of my kids have one. My daughter is especially fond of hers, sleeping with it every night and bringing it into the living room with her during the day. The only other thing she loves so much is her blankie! My son is not as attached to his, but it was still nice to have something with daddy on it to hold when he was deployed. I think they are such a great creation and can help children (maybe even adults!) feel connected to those they love when they can't always be near them. I hope that more people place orders after reading your description!
Would love to win a daddy doll for my boys. My hubby just left on a deployment and my boys would be thrilled to get something so unique and special in the mail. Good luck to all!
My husband, as a gift to our son. Our son was just diagnosed with Autism less than 60 days ago, and we're facing our first deployment since he was born.
I'm hoping something like this will help him with this transition, as it's difficult for any child, but change is especially difficult for children on the spectrum.
Seeing as Daddy is about to go on a 365 we'll be needing one of these very soon! :-(
I would love one! I would of course put my husband on it for our son. He is in the air force and up for being shipped off next year! This would be great for us!
