Here we go...

Your prayers over the next few days are appreciated. Lots coming up and I'm a little nervous. If you have emailed me and have not heard back, I apologize. Hopefully next week I will be less swamped with everything and back to a routine. Thanks for your support!

The Wall

There I am, sitting in the doctor's office (again) and attempting to understand why we need an additional test to prepare for IVF. It's "extra" the translator says. The nurse and the office manager contribute their two cents, in Turkish of course. All that and I still don't understand. Is there something wrong with me? What's the problem? They continue to banter back and forth, but I'm still lost, and then I hit it. The wall. I put my head in my lap and closed my eyes. It's too much. The visits, the pressure, the cost, the stress, the fear, the language barrier, all of it.

Last night I hit it again. I pouted, I kicked, I screamed. I do NOT want any more shots. I'm tired of poking myself in the arm and stomach every day with these STUPID hormones. It hurts. It sucks. My ovaries are giant. BLAH.

(Yes, I know it will be worth it. Yes, I know there are worse things in the world. Yes, I know it is elective. Shut it.)

Road Trippin'

9 years ago, I mean, over Christmas, our god friends from Germany came to visit. We had a ton of fun dragging them around different local places and seeing some amazing things.

First up was Adana, the closest large city (the 4th largest in Turkey). I have been a few times, but never to the Mosque. I had only been to one mosque before, but it was NOTHING like this one!

Next stop (after a CRAZY drive and stopping for directions several times), Tarsus, the home of Paul (of Bible fame)!

Then a fun Snake Castle hike on a beautiful day...

Climbing down is harder than it looks!

And last, a trip to the Mediterranean for a castle on (and one in) the sea...

Isn’t it crazy that these things are within hours of our house? It never ceases to amaze me what we are able to see as we live overseas. In Turkey, I really enjoy how open it all is. You get access to just about eveything without most of it being roped off! Amazing.
