Eventually..

So I promise to eventually get back to regular posting and emailing. I'm hoping to turn in my last big paper today. Then I have a few weeks of chilling before a crazy three week course, and then a break for the summer. I can't wait!

Basically right now my life it consumed with PCS stuff (of course the husband would be going TDY during the pack out and car shipment), grad school, and work. I'm so ready for a break! One break that is happening soon is our last vacation from Europe. In May we are heading to Portugal and I can't wait! How cool will that be? 4 days of hanging out on the beach and it's gonna be nice! Then it's back to craziness for a bit. Oh well. Am I even making sense? Probably not.

I posted our Florence pics 9 years ago but forgot about blogging the rest of the trip. We also went to Siena (a favorite), Lucca, and Pisa. Here are some pics...

Town Square in Siena
Cathedral (Duomo) in Siena
View from the top.
(There will be no pics of me from Siena as I was forced to wear denim on denim due to the cold. There is no way I will share that atrocity with others.)
Cathedral in Lucca- Beauitful outside, odd inside
Pisa Duomo and Baptistery
Luckily Jordan was able to help hold things in place.
Bye Pisa!

Italy was beautiful as always. I'm glad we got to see as much as we did.

Thanks for being patient with my non-blogging!

PCS Medical Check

Perhaps I shouldn't have laughed when they told my husband he had to get a shot, because after that, they told me I had to get 2.

Tetanus shots make me want to cut my arm off.

That is all.

Florence

Last Saturday we hopped a RyanAir flight to Florence. (RA, if you don't already know, is the super cheap and super crazy way to fly within Europe. While I don't enjoy everything about it, I do like that it is cheap enough to make more trips possible.) We met some friends there that we have traveled with before, took the long route to our hotel, and rushed over to take a bike tour.

But first we stopped at a sandwich shop crowded with Italians. (That's always a good sign, right?) Turns out for 5 euro you can get a yummy sandwich and a glass of wine. Love!

Then we toured around the city. Not the best city for biking, but we saw a lot.
See how warm that day looks? Me in my dress with no jacket and everything! The next day, not so much. It was rainy and FREEZING. All I brought was sandals, 1 jean jacket, and dresses. I was forced to buy some new clothes and shoes to ward off frostbite. So sad. :)

And of course there was a ton of eating! At one pizza place the guy has 3 pizza choices for the day. We got there 1 minutes before it opened to get in line for a table, sat where he told us, and waited to order. Of course, Jordan had to try to order something not on his (spoken) menu. I thought we were gonna get kicked out. He was just like the soup nazi from Seinfeld!
Then there was a little more sightseeing (including David, but of course no pics of that!)...

All in all, a fun time in Florence with friends!
Next it was off to Sienna!

Drowning

(No I haven't gone on vacation yet. Soon. Very soon.)

Some days I honestly feel like I am drowning. Working full time, 6 hours of grad school, and trying to have a life- some days it's just too much. I can't wait until I can focus on school, and not the kind with psycho parents. I can't wait until I can actually enjoy evenings at home with my husband instead of falling asleep as soon as I finish dinner. I can't wait until I don't have to post discussion posts about dumb stuff with people who have no idea about life outside of their bubble. I can't wait until I can relax. Ugh.

Why did I ever let you guys talk me into working and going to school at the same time? ;)

I need a vacation!
