I picked up a few books on tape at the library before we headed out. This turned out to be a life saver. Hours of traffic is no fun, but at least the book helps it go by faster. After 6 hours we arrived at our precious hotel (Gasthaus).
Isn't it cute? And they raise deer in the backyard! And they have an albino baby deer! (What do you call a baby deer anyway?) It was easy to hop a bus into town for some exploring.
Then we had dinner at a Biergarten with an AWESOME view.
When we walked out some girls kept saying, "bello!" to Jordan. Hello, I know what that means and I am RIGHT HERE. Skanks. You can be assured that Jordan brings this up at any chance he gets.
The next day we went on a Sound of Music bike tour. (Thanks for the suggestion Allison!) We had a great time, even with our tour guide who rode 50 MPH on her bike. Rest assured, I did a good deal of singing. Jordan LOVED this. LOVED. Can you identify the parts of the movie from the pictures?
Then we went to the Eagle's Nest, a place built for Hitler, which is located just over the border in Germany. Only one building is left. Much of the original place was destroyed after the war. The place was over 6,000 feet in the air. I did fine once we were at the top, but I honestly thought I was going to die on the bus ride to the top. I was sweating, praying, and keeping my eyes on the floor. Luckily I lived long enough to see this...
Then yesterday we headed into Munich for a few hours. I had been once before, but Jordan had not. We found a walking tour that started at the right time and signed up! It was an awesome tour, even though the British accented German tour guide look like he had been up all night, poor guy. We saw a lot in 2 hours!

After a lunch at the Hofbrauhaus it was time to head home. We had an AWESOME weekend! How am I going to handle moving back to the states? I just don't know if going to Dallas will be quite as exciting.
VERY IMPORTANT P.S.-
Okay, maybe not SO important. I dyed my hair before we left. What do you think?

OK tell me the story about where they are surfing, looks like the English Garden, but you had the other pic where it says no surfing ;-)
You call a baby deer a fawn. I'm so jealous of your trip!!!!

Haha! I was going to ask if you did something to your hair! It looks good! Looks like a fun trip! I love the pic of you and Jordan on the mountain/rock...whatever. What was that surfer thing? Bobby wants to join your dad's surfer bible study now! Haha! He's all into it!
Hair is too cute. :) And yes, it's a fawn, but it took me a minute to think about it.
Um, yes, a trip to DFW will be wonderfully exciting because two precious kiddos and your sister life there. Oh, by the way, Jacob pretend-called you on his phone last week. He said "Hi Casey"
I was gonna say, your hair does look pretty shiny and dark chocolaty. Me likey.
My cousins in Europe all tell me that American guys are a hot comodity there, and not just because they can bring them to the US. I guess some girls are tired of the rolled up tight white pants and sleeveless shirts many dudes (if I can even call them that) wear there.
You trip looks like it was a blast. That really is the cutest hotel I've ever seen. For real, it's reading about stuff like this that makes me want to stop having children just so they can grow up, send them to G-ma's and go on a vacations. Adults only.
Looks like that was a BLAST - Super jealous about the bike tour. All time favorite movie!

Hmmmm going to Dallas not the same but it's definitely all what you make of it! We had a blast this weekend!! And I got to scream "bello" to Chris Isaak 3 feet away from me. Haha!
That looks like such a grand trip. I bet it was so surreal at points. I am in awe that you were able to go visit the Eagle's Nest. That SOM tour sounds so magical..I loved the jump.
Thanks for sharing it!
First of all, it is freakish that you can jump so high in the air. I had to go back and double check that it was really you. Yep, it was the same outfit and I was dumbfounded. Second, we stayed in Berschtesgaden last summer for a week! Isn't the Eagles Nest awesome? I went a long time and it was just as beatiful the 2nd time!
Surfers never could (or would) follow directions. Especially if it kept them out of the water. We used to sneak in to surf near President Nixon's home in San Clemente. Looks like a great trip, Case. I get to visit these places through your camera and narration.
I also think about how we will handle going back to the states after all of these adventures! Looks like a great trip. I had to laugh when you said the girls were saying Bello to your husband. What a compliment to you! :)
Very beautiful photos!
Oh, I would DIE to go to the von trapp mansion (or the one in the movie, whatever) I loved that movie as a kid! ok, i still do love it.
I LOVE the Sound of Music. I would LOVE to take the S of M bike tour. Soooooo fun.
