Well, I survived the last week of school before break.
Wednesday- Field trip to a German ballet production of Rumplestiltskin. My favorite part? The drunk girl carrying around her bottle of Vodka. In a kids theater performance. Ah, Germany.
Thursday- Polar Express day. Wore pajamas to school, which was a huge bonus. TBought and made hot chocolate for all the kids. Printed tickets for the train ride for all the kids. Brought the movie. Set up the "train." Had frozen bells delivered from the North Pole. I'll take my teacher of the year award now :) (PS- I can't post pictures because I may or may not have worn pajamas sent to me by my in-laws for Christmas. :) Oops.)
Friday- Christmas party! I was happily surprised when my room mom had most of our party set up and ready to go. We decorated gingerbread houses, had a book exchange, listened to a story, gave presents to the moms and dads, and watched the Grinch. Busy, but fun, day. And, the kids were pretty well behaved. And, I didn't even drink until I got home.
Now, it is time to hunker down and study ALL WEEKEND LONG. Jordan and I are heading to Frankfurt on Monday. My GRE test starts at noon. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Pray for me!
Tschuss!

Sounds like a great week at school. I totally believe you wore your new jommies. Doesn't Nancy read your blog? I know she's read mine.

No Christmas party greatness for my kids...school cancelled because of snow!! Good luck on your test and Merry Christmas!! Keep up the blog; us fellow transplanted Texans sure appreciate it : )
Good luck on the test!!
Aren't you just the sweetest teacher ever!? Frozen bells? Pajamas? Tickets? Oh my, that is so very FUN! Enjoy your Christmas break!
Definitely a "Best Teacher Award" would be well deserved. Those kids will remember that someday-I do.
It is just after 11:00 a.m. as I type this, so you are starting soon. Best of luck to you. I don't remember it being too painful. You can enjoy the holidays with this behind you now.
We did the Polar Express too, and I wanted to curl up and take a nap. My students were hyped up though!
Sorry you missed out on the GRE. I took the GMAT way back when I was in college, so I was able to bypass the GRE to get into graduate school here since I had my MBA. Thank goodness since I don't know if I would have done well!
