We had a WONDERFUL time at the wine probe last night! Other than the lovely German van/bus ride down winding roads with a full gas can rolling around in the back, of course. Oh well, no one had to be DD, and this is essential.
Winegut Rosenbaum is a family owned winery that has been in the same place with the same fields since before the black plague. Crazy huh?
Here we are before the trip. Too bad you can't see the fabulous black boots I bought in Paris. (Yes, I know that is a snobby thing to say, and I enjoyed it.)
Here is our little turd of a cat hiding. We were almost late leaving for the trip because we thought he ran away when the new (and WAY better) cleaning lady was over.
Once we got to the Winery we were able to try all different types of wine (sweet for us, everyone else liked dry) and eat the best goulash you will ever taste in your life. Seriously. Amazing.
We also were able to tour the basement where the wine is made (above) and the storage area where the wine is kept (below). That is my idea of a party room.
This is the Mosel river valley where the winery is located. The fall leaves are starting to show their beautiful colors. Plus, the weather has actually been nice for 4 entire days. Score!
It was so fun! Did I mention we were able to purchase the wines we like for around 6 dollars a bottle?! Fabulous.
In other news...
- In a trip to my favorite place today (oh BX how I hate you) I asked the lady in the book section if they carried Real Simple magazine. She says to me (I kid you not), "Did you check the magazine section?" No mam, I actually looked in the tampon aisle. I thought for sure if it would be anywhere, it would surely be next to the super absorbent non-scented Playtex sport box. Thanks for the tip!
- We leave for Rome/Sicily/Greece/Turkey in ONE WEEK! AHHHHHHHHHHH!
